I've had the same keyboard and mouse for about 7 years, kept them but changed computers (you get used to things)

Anyway, i've just realised that it's quite dusty and has hair and st on it.

So

I tipped it upside down and shook it into the bin.

Well fk ME.

Never seen so much st in all my life, i'm also shocked at how much I must pluck nose hairs, pick bogeys etc...

7 years of build up, 2 dead flys, dozens of used staples and a couple of paper clips in there too yikes

Incredible.

Go on, have a go, what's been festering in your keyboard?

I went through a phase when I was a slob of tapping my fag ash on the numberpad as I never used it.

Don't get one of those keyboard hoovers though. They're crap.

I got given one a few Christmases ago, worst present ever. Didn't ever work!

The parts lad at my work did this when i was in the office the other day, the amount of finger nail ends and bits of dead skin that fell onto the desk was utterly unbelievable. Ugh... absolutely disgusting.

Peculiarly, the manual for my first home computer (Texas Instruments Ti-99) specifically stated not to eat peanut butter sandwiches over the keyboard.
Shame they didn't have the business sense to match their humour as the company went bust a fortnight after The Daddy bought the machine.

I tip mine out regularly. I remember the school having cans of compressed air to clean theirs....talk about your all time waste of cash.

Mind you the head of IT was an ex PE teacher. And you know that they say. Those who can teach. Those who can't PE teach.

A new keyboard can be under £5 so why keep them for so long?
