Quick Mac Question

[NDA]

I don't know my way around Macs and one of the mums at school (!) is trying to send me a photograph - trouble is she keeps sending thumbnails (or previews) rather than the full sized photo as an attachment.

Not sure how she's failing, could someone give me the routine to do it? I've suggested composing an email to me and then 'attaching' the file, but clearly this is is not happening.

You can either drag the file onto the mail client, or just attach the file. Dunno why thumbnails would be being sent? I'll have a look on my mail and see what I can see.

I'm not in front of my Mac at the moment but you have to select the 'Send PC Friendly Attachments' option, which I think is in the File Attachment dialog box.

I thought that was the default setting? I don;t think I have ever had to click it... Can't remember actually.

When you drag images into Mail.app, there's usually a dropdown at the bottom of the message showing small, medium, large. It's probably adjusting them to small.

This is very likely - I find it very annoying myself. I wish I could make it default to "send original", but it seems to be sticky to whatever settin you last used.

Mine sends 'original size' all the time. It is the default setting on mine. If it 'sticks' on the last setting, and you want it to be original size, just click original size, and that will be the last setting, surely?

where do the pics come from?

I have a vague memory of someone having the same problem but the images were coming from an iphone and it was to do with the iphone set up.

Good question - and she was sending me phone pics earlier. However I know she's now trying to send large versions (2MB+).
