iTunes on MacBook Pro
Discussion
is running slowly, to the point that I think it has crashed
I've uploaded my music and audio book library, and discovered that it had done upto 'I' in full then bits & bobs of the rest.
I've then selected the rest of the books (it had done 34 out of 174) and it took 48 hours to process them.
I've just told it to do the 5 Js that were missing from Music and although it did them it has now hung with the little swirly kaleidoscope thingy.
I've upgraded to iTunes 9 and I'm running it on my MacBook; the music library is stored on the server and is correctly pointly (I've tried opening it in Finder and it all works). Google doesn't help much in turning up answers.
I've tried forcing it to quit and restarting, but it hangs on opening now.
Please can anyone help?

Aha - mine did this - with large music/media library's it can take a while. Mine was over 112gb and was sooo slow until I hooked it up wired instead of wireless. Think the fact that the files are on a file-server/NAS make a big difference
I would try another import but wired this time
