Hi all,

Can you recommend me a cheap web hoster? I've already looked at 123, Register1.net and a couple of others but for the space I need there either too expensive, or don't fit the bill.

Cheers

If you're not after all singing all dancing solutions... I went with Just Host, about £100 for a domain name for life and 3 years hosting with no caps on webspace, upload, download, or number of e-mail addresses.

What do you need? If it's for a business then you'd not want anything but a proper solution.

If it's a personal site, you can't beat Google Apps for its free-ness.

It's for an online magazine/blog as you will see if you click on my profile. The webhoster will need to be compatable with PHP version 4.3 or greater and MySQL version 4.1.2 or greater.

I've worked out that I'm going to need more than 1 GB worth of disk space, and seeing as I'm going to be uploading a fair amount of content i need as much space as possible.

Reg1 VDS Std is only £33/year, the Support is worth that alone!

What are you actually going to save, £10/£15 tops by going to some US based teenage reseller with no support?

1GB isn't enough for what I need it for I'm afraid.
