To many of us who grew up in the heady 1980s, Guy Kewney (along with PCW magazine with which he seemed pretty much synonymous) pretty much was IT Journalism. Too many heroes dying, and eras ending

RIP Guy. I have had cause to meet and speak with Guy on many occasions and it is hard to think of anyone more passionate or informed about the technology space than him.
One of these meetings came on the same day as his finest brush with fame. And no, he doesn't drive a minicab.

A nice write up! I remember PCW from the 80s. I was working for a pharmaceutical company at the time and would take home copies of PCW from the library and try out their coding examples on a borrowed 286.Gosh how times have changed.
RIP as they say.
