I am trying to restore a ghost image to a laptop. It was created with Ghost I'm not sure what version. But the ghost program was obviously lost when I reinstalled another os on the laptop. I now want to put it back to the way it was.

I have installed a trial version of ghost 15 on the laptop but it is requiring a "symantic recovery disk" for me to create a recovery cd. Everywhere I look on the internet is trying to scalp me of money for the file.

Can anyone help?

Norton ghost has an option to create a recovery CD - cant remember where in the menu as I moved to macrium a while back. But it is there. You select the option, insert a blank CD , you now have a recovery cd.

Try using Bart's PE. You can include a "free" version of ghost on the boot CD which will allow you to restore your ghosted image...

You would have to create it using an existing working PC running Windows XP, or you could just download Hiren's Boot CD here

There doesn't seem to be one on that page. There's one here though that I just found from Google.
