Copy movies?

First off I am a big fan of iTunes, it does just what I want in an easy to understand way. One thing has been nagging me though, I can put a music CD in and it will offer to copy it for me there and then, if I put a DVD in, nothing. Is it beyond the wit of man to have the same thing happen with a DVD?

I am sure there are other programmes out there that will rip them and I can copy them in to some directory to have it all but I am too stupid/lazy/not really interested in them. I just wonder if it could be a future feature of iTunes?

It does already but only on new films that come with a digital copy as well as the dvd/blu ray

I know you say you can't be bothered with finding other programs that do it for you but http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPhone-3G/ does it very well and is only a couple of clicks to perform the task.

Cheers guys, yes, I do have one or 2 movies with the digital copy and they worked. Was wondering why the others couldn't.

I am aware of the other programmes, but for now want to hold off. Maybe sometime later when the home cinema has been revamped and then I am thinking of using Apple TV to stream stuff - but then again, if I have a DVD/Blue Ray player in the room am I just buggering about with technology for the sake of it? Be great to stream music from iTunes on to a big screen, but suspect it may be more trouble/clicks to initiate a film via Apple TV than to slot a DVD/Blue Ray in to the player!

I use my PS3 to stream stuff, but only because it's there and it has the ability, I was going to get an AppleTV ages before I got the PS3, but decided against it because I couldn't be arsed ripping all my DVDs...

But once I found out I could stream via the PS3, (Bought for games mainly) I ripped my TV shows to save having to swap disks over between episodes, (I have lazyitus) and it's also quieter when not spinning a disk, (and having one PS3 bluray drive failure within the first couple of months of ownership, I thought it best not to stress the drive watching TV shows, just incase!!! laugh )

If I was starting again, I'd get a nettop pc ( http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=nettop&um=1... ) and a NAS box, and rip everything as *.mkv...
