Just upgraded to this phone and couple of issues that I am hoping someone knows the answer to!

1. The in-call volume is low even when on maximum - any ideas of how to increase it?

2. How do you save pictures onto your phone from internet i.e. download images?!

Cheers,

John

The answer to all of your questions is that you should have bought a Desire...

hehe

Another issue you'll add to the list soon is the awful battery life, I got 33 hours out of my Desire, colleague is getting on average about 7-8 hours from his X10. Will last longer if he turns off everything, but he may as well not bother with a smart phone at all if he's going to do that.

How long is the battery lasting, have read a few reviews on line that say it's woeful?

It is either an X10 or Desire at the weekend for me and I am strongly steering towards the Desire.

Nooooo! I went into shop wanting a Desire and was talked into X10 by salesman as it has bigger screen and a few other things but cant remember them now. I am going back to them and try and get onto Desire....

The obvious area in which the X10 will exceed the Desire is the camera and the functions which go along with it. Not sure about other things but it was top of my list until I began to wonder how long it will take SE to update the OS from 1.6, and how long other updates would take to come through. I have been a loyal SE fan for many years but jumped ship to the Nexus One.

Have you got 7 days to cancel?

I found the X10 felt VERY big in the hand, which is it i suppose given the extra screen size, but it felt very awkward.

Processor, the version of Android and the skins put on by handset manufacturers are the main differences I think.

The company that I got the upgrade from are refusing to allow me to change the phone to the Desire from the X10 even though the sound quality is terrible on X10 and it required charging within 24 hours of an overnight charge. Have been back to the store and called customer service but they both say the same thing that teh phone can only be replaced on a like for like basis. We tried anotehr X10 in the store and it was just as bad...so why would I want another one?!

Anybody know how to get around this/cancel upgrade?

Are you within your 7 days?

If so just give it back. I think this is your rights.

I got it on Sunday so within my few days but they are pretty adamant that I can only get the same phone again...

They won't let me cancel the contract...phone was upgraded through Phones 4 u and network is Vodafone. Pretty annoyed as the phone's volume is awful. A google search of "Xperia X10 volume" reveals lots of other people complaining about the same thing. Why would I want a like for like replacement of a phone that I was not happy with?!

If you want to reject it make sure you put it in writing and get it to them with evidence they received it. You will want proof that you told them in case they drag their heels further and then claim you are out of the time window for a change to be possible.

Good luck with Phones 4 U though, cowboys of the highest order in my experience.
