I'm looking for a good quality cigarette lighter adapter with twin (at least) USB sockets for powering my many gadgets while on the move. Unfortunately most of those I've tried in the past have been of shocking build quality.

Anyone got any recommendations of something that I will only have to buy once? I don't mind paying for good quality obviously. Ideally of the type which has a cable so I can place the sockets where I like, rather than the small rigid type that may mean things get in the way in hire cars, etc.

Santok make one but they're relatively tricky to find in the UK.

I got mine from 7dayshop.com - it's one of these

Dirt cheap and has lasted with daily use for over 11months so far.

Number 5 is alive? Looks ideal (are they solid enough?), but seems to be the fixed-in type.

It needs to have spare cig lighter sockets as well, since that's how my (current) GPS gets power. Although I may well upgrade to an Oregon 550t which I think is powered by USB.

Yeah I saw that, looks ideal, but as with all these things it all comes down to the build.

I'm thinking, how hard can it be for me to build one from scratch? Can't be that hard, and I can build it to my own sturdyness requirements smile
