So, I put a car for sale on eBay with a starting bid. Within a few minutes someone matched the starting bid. Now it is just sitting there at the starting bid with no one else bidding (although there are a few watchers).

OK so far no problem, but what is strange is that the lone bidder has been a member of eBay for over a year and has zero feedback.

Is it some kind of scam or what?

Any thought gratefully received.

I'd have set 'Buyer preferences' which allows you to govern the people who bid (i.e. Feedback of more than 2, no unpaid item strikes, etc, etc)

Seems bizare that he's been registered a year. But if he does end up winning it, and doesn't pay, lodge a dispute and you'll get all your fees back. You'll just have to start the process off again.
