A friend of mine is thinking about setting up a new website and is currently looking at different providers. I know quite a few of you lot have your own sites so I thought this may be a good place to ask for advice!

The site will be fairly small and will contain music samples and completed tracks that people have put together (all copyright free) so the facility to upload and downoad files will be required.

He has been looking at the following provider:

www.masgrahosting.com/?page=

Anyone have any advice/suggestions on alternatives?

I can get Web hosting at VERY resonable prices. I do Web design Part time and have done alot of work for a Lodon Hosting company so if interested I could set you up for some space beating just about any other price.

rickbrown@hotmail.com if you want to get in touch and ask more questions.

Depends what you're after;

Commercial sites need to be on reliable servers, good redudancy and multiple connections, www.register1.net is good for that, run by a PH'er (JamieB) and he does offer good support (well I pester him on MSN ).

Plenty of resellers on here that'll recommend their own services now.....i'm going to put a bet at Ladbrookes on one of them appearing in this thread soon

This is a common question. Any one of you hosting types want to sponsor this forum?

I have used Altaire (www.12345.com) and cannot recommend them highly enough.

Speak to Steve Ball and mention that Neil Edge recommended them.

Regards,
