Mobile not sending texts but memory not full
Discussion
This evening my phone suddenly came up with a message when I tried to send a text, telling me that the memory was full. I have since deleted ALL messages, several albums of music and pictures and get it still says memory full when I try to send a text.
Phone is a SE C902
I have a 2GB memory card which has 336MB free and there's 125MB free in the phone memory.
I've turned it off, taken battery, SIM and memory card out but that didn't work. I've tried good old google but they all say delete your messages and the it'll work!
Help, I can't live without texts!!!

Got a backup of anything you need on it such as numbers?
My Sony Ericsson C510 did that a couple of months ago. I eventually traced it to a trojan from my laptop. Everytime the drive was access the trojan replicated itself as a hidden file, so using the phone meant it was full of hidden files even though it claimed to have memory free.
After cleaning my laptop I did a software reinstall/upgrade using the software that came with the phone & all was good again.
EDIT: of course if you've never plugged your phone into a computer ignore this.

No. That would be like a guy asking you if he should take a pregnancy test "just to be sure" that his wife was expecting. Best bet is to get what you can off the phone and then do a factory reset.
Edit: Unless the phone is running Windows Mobile. But even then I doubt a Windows-based anti-virus could have much benefit to a phone over USB.

I can scan the memory card in my phone via USB just like any other drive.
Sure. But what are you going to find? Does your Windows-based anti-virus software have signatures for trojans and viruses written for that phone's Operating System? I very much doubt it. As I said, the only conceivable way would be any use at all would be if the phone runs Windows as well. And even then I'm dubious.

I agree with your reasoning & can't explain how it run on non-windows devices, but it did appear to do so.

Fair enough. I'm guessing the Windows machine was the source of the trojan and the camera and phone were being used as convenient vectors (as simple storage devices). Ok, I'll concede that there is "no harm" in scanning the phone when connected to the PC but really only for this scenario.

Have you tried a software update?
My Nokia crashed and I couldnt get on the web, tried a software update on nokias site and it worked a treat.
I know you dont have a Nokia and its a totally different fault but its worth a try
A quick google brought this up

I havent tried this with SE phones before and take no responsibilkity if it goes tits up
Seems reasonably straight forward if you've got the connecting cable from phone to PC
ETA :- You will loose all your data which I know will be a PITA

Well...I downloaded SE PC suite and backed up my phone. I then found a tab in there to fix phones. Went through all of that and 15 mins later it said it was unable to fix my phone. I then downloaded the update program and that also failed to complete and now the phone wont even turn on
All I get is the little blue light on the camera button so I cant even restore factory settings.
