HTML coding question
Discussion
It is certainly possibly to produce this functionality.
Firstly though, when you say "upload the spreadsheet" do you mean into a database that will then be displayed via HTML? Or hard-coded into an HTML page?
If the former, then your problem becomes much easier. Have each column header as a link to the page you are on, passing a "sort by" variable. When the user clicks on the link, the page will reload, check the sort by variable and display the table in the order the user wanted.
If the latter - well, you might be able to do it with some javascript but it's a bit harder...

If you want to keep it very simple...
Open your spreadsheet, click 'save as' then go down to Web page. Now click on 'add interactivity' and save to your location. Voila a basic but sortable web table.
...generated by Excel, which is the second worst thing in the world at creating HTML, the worst thing in the world being Word. Open your spreadsheet, click 'save as' then go down to Web page. Now click on 'add interactivity' and save to your location. Voila a basic but sortable web table.

As I said to keep it simple; no point over engineering. Take an example of a corporate team leader who wants to do something quickly short term for his team to use then it is perfect.
