Can no longer access my gmail via my iPhone!!!

Can anyone help with this?

I've had my phone for a couple of weeks and i set it up to accept my 2 gmail accounts. This has been running great but as from Friday it just stopped downloading my mail and i cannot fathom out why seeing as i have not touched any of the settings. My internet is fine its just my gmail accounts.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

No, nothing.

All that i see is the little dooflab at the bottom of the screen saying 'connecting' and whiring around, thing is it never manages to connect.

Ah, mine did that and then got various IMAP/SMTP errors and stuff.

Sure someone who knows what they are talking about will be along soon.

Looks like Google have been cocking about with it all in the last few days:

Perhaps only temporary? I know this won't help much, but fwiw, I can get my GMail on my HTC Hero (Android).

Yup, my internet is fine and dandy, i just cant access my Gmail.

Whenever I've had problems with smartphones the shut down and restart has sorted them. Certain apps have caused problems with my iPhone.

Maybe you've just not got any new mail. Try checking your GMail accounts online, if you have mail waiting then check settings on the Gmail website and on the phone.

Try putting it into airplane mode for 30 seconds, then logging in again. It'll give you the 'cannot connect' pop up but just click on that to get it to go away.

My Desire did this the other day. I found a thread that said to do this and it worked:
Manage aplications
select google mail
Click to clear data.

Its been fine since.
