*MP3 to MIDI - NO, No and yep.....no !*
MP3 and WAV are digital files.
The larger the filesize , the higher the quality or sample rate .
This is why when you convert an album to MP3 you have the choice of bit rate. 128KB is near CD quality.
MIDI files tell an onboard synthesiser what notes are present. This files are TINY !
If I had a basic on board sound card then upgraded to a Sound Blaster Audigy 2, the same MIDI files would sound much better !
So conversion is almost impossible !
I'm sure there must be some hardware/software which could work it out ... but would be very $$$.
I could just play on my guitar and the computer could grab the notes !

I think you can with the right kit
I might have to have a play in a wavetable program tonight
Matt, Does Soundforge really do it simply ??
>> Edited to say it's not just onboard synthesisers if you have a MIDI soundcard like wot I've got you can bounce the siganl through any other modules (drums and keyboards etc (that I haven't bought yet)) they're always higher quality than the onboard stuff
