Hey guys,

My girlfriends getting a brand new replacement HTC Hero from Orange tomorrow, but it doesn't come with a box, it's literally just a phone/charger.

I was wondering if anyone knows if there's a site/etc where you can buy everything else?

Thanks smile

Is it a reconditioned one? Surely if it's being sent to her it will still come in a box of some description? Or is it so you can flog it on ebay later? hehe

Nope they said they're sending her a brand new one without the box, is there a way to tell that it's new? (like the run time display you get in tv service menus...)

Why would they send a brand new one without a box? They would have to remove it and then box it again to make it safe to post....doesn't make a lot of sense. confused

They usually come in a box, a small one with foam inside to keep it from rattling around

Rubbish, sounds like they're fobbing you off with a reconditioned one.

Any way to check whether it's actually new or not?

She's phoned back and basically it's a load of carbon emission reducing bks stipulated by OFCOM.

Haha biggrin

I think it's from the manufacturer rather than Orange, I think they're a bit hit and miss on what they send to them if it isn't a phone for a new customer/upgrade.

:/
