Time for a new mobile?
Discussion
Not a computer Q but I guess the knowledge is kinda similar...
I have an NEC DB2000 on Virgin Mobile. Recently it's been unable to connect to the network, saying 'No Service' - even though there is. Virgin suggested I disconnect the battery for 30 mins, then select the network manually. This worked but only once, then lost it again. Then I cleaned the SIM and battery contacts, and it worked for a bit. Now it gives me 'No Service' all the time. The phone's about 4 years old but has had very little use.
Has anyone got a suggestion for fixing it? If not, I suppose I have to buy a new handset. I can go to Virgin and get one for £60+, but are there other places where I can get a phone without SIM and just switch the SIM over? I don't want anything fancy, no WAP, IR, cameras etc, just a smart phone that's mobile!
