My mobile contract is up for renewal and "3" have just offere me 1200mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet and free "3" to "3" calls for 32 quid a month on an 18 month contract. Belter!

However, it's on an iPhone. Initially I though great, but then I remembered that only O2, Vodafone and Orange are supposed to be doing the iPhone - so how are "3" selling it to me?

I've clarified with "3" and it's definately on offer but a few people have mentioned it may be a "grey import" phone and I'm likely to have problems with syncing iTunes and so on.

What's the score with this as I'm baffled!

get it in writing for a start, ive had a case a mobile company offered me a deal I couldnt refuse, I bit their hand off, I didnt get what I was told over the phone, no matter what I said could convince them that they had screwed me over. I changed mobile companies as soon as I could.

It wasnt "3" though.

3 usually are cheaper than most. Didn't think you could get an iphone on there though.

[Odie] do you do Iphones?
[Neetu] Hi Odie, welcome to 3.
[Neetu] I'll be glad to help you with the required information on iphones.
[Neetu] May I know if you are an existing 3 customer or are you looking to buy a new connection online?
[Odie] new
[Odie] Iphone? yes/no
[Neetu] As of now we don't have iphone for new connection. We are unable to give timings for the launch of new handsets. Due to testing and pricing agreements, this information is subject to change. However please check www.three.co.uk for the latest information.
[Neetu] We do have some other good phone.

-check the fair usage allowance for the 'unlimited' internet as may be low.
- new iphone is due soonish from increased media stories hence deals will come down
- Add the 'only £32 a month' over 18 months (£576) and think of what else you could spend the extra on if you got a just as capable but less trendy phone e.g. a HTC Desire
A mate just got a 3 older HTC Hero 24 months, unlimited net (500MB iirc), unlimited 3-3, 500 min call/text bundle thing for £17 a month.

A buddy of mine told 3 that he was leaving them because he wanted an iphone, so they sold him one. It's a euro model with a 2-pin charging cable, but he hasn't had any problems that I'm aware of using iTunes/app store.

My mate got one from 3 as well, he's had no issues with it as well. He was an existing customer, and they offered him it without prompting - he was just looking for a good deal. Got one too.
