Text/messaging/email web based software

Morning,

Need a few pointers as not really a tech person at all.

What I require is a web based system that sits on someone's desktop and recieves texts sent from a single central source.

The content of that text is then published on the client side messenger but the client can also choose to automatically have that message forwarded on by text and or email.

I suspect that the best system would be have one bit of software that picks up the text and converts it to email, then for that email to go into the messenger where the client can read it on screen or have it forwarded by email or text to themselves remotely?

The system would need to run a complete log of historic input texts and also be able to handle more than one channel of incoming texts.

Twitter would cover most of this but cannot be used as we would need to fully control who has access and also charge.

I'm pretty confident that this kind of product already exists but searching on Google seems to not deliver as I'm probably using the wrong keywords.

Any thoughts would be gratefully recieved.
