Make shortcuts like "My documents" point to a differnt place/ I partitioned my HD and keep all my docs. on a separate partition, and I don't use the C drive "my documents", "my pictures" etc. Can they be made to point to where my stuff is? (Without re-writng code etc!!)

Right click the shortcut

Select properties

Now change that directory in the box to wherever you documents are stored.

Repeat as neccesary with My Pictures etc.

Oh, really difficult then?

Actually, I meant the shortcuts that pop up on a side bar when you click "Save as... and a window opens with button type shortcuts to my docs etc. Can these be re-directed? Or can you add shortcuts to the list?

If you retarget My Documents through the desktop shortcut every other reference to My Documents should as well.

Or am I misunderstanding?

Ahh!

You mean the shortcuts on the save box, I understand now.

I dont think you can add any (no space) but I think if you install MS Office you get a My Favourites folder that allows you to add shortcuts to anything on that file save box.
