Now that I am going to fornmat my hard drive and put XP on, I want to upgrade to the best or at least an up to date Virus checker and a decent firewall. I know that XP comes with a firewall but as Im getting Broadband I want a decent one. I already have Zone Alarm Pro but what Anti Virus should I get?

norton antivirus and firewall have always worked like a charm for me. and also get ad-aware, helps to get that annoying spyware off.

Norton (Symantec) works very well for me. On the firewall front, ZoneAlarm is well respected and you may mind that your broadband provider has some kind of firewall that you can enable too - mine does.

And as Brian says, don't forget anti-spyware - AdAware and SpyBot are often mentioned; I have both.

Just bought a Norten Suite.

Virus checker,
Firewall,
Spam filter,
and parental control....

....with a years subscription....

....less than 30 from an Amazon trader....

Gets my vote.

Zone Alarm is great. Used to use it. But I'm playing with Norton for a bit.

Still might revert to Z/A.....
