Parents Windows xp home edition running office xp pro.
Trying to use the copy function. Unless the office application is already open it won't allow a copy into it. The paste function is greyed out.
eg using screen print or copy a graphic to a word document.

Open word then copy and all is OK. Bit of a bind doing course work from floppy etc.

PS works fine on my lap top.
PPS all updates have been done.

Cheers

Do the shortcut keys work?
Ctrl & C = Copy
Ctrl & V = Paste

Yep. Forgot to add that it works fine with other programs. When you check the clipboard in word for example, the copy is not there unless word is already open.

works fine on my laptop as well. Its not really a big deal for me but the parents are doing a course and trying to follow course instructions on their desk machine.
