Didnt have these appear when on dial up but have been getting the occasional one since being on BB.
Spyware,Porn the lot.
I have ZA and NAV so how do I stop them??

If u dont have AdAware get it(check google to find it). you most likely have adware on ur pc or something and AA will take care out it.

Go to grc.com and look for the shoot the messenger program.

You need to run and update anti-spyware software just like you do with anti-virus software. AdAware is one; Spybot Search & Destroy is another.

I have ad-aware and have had a clean out but how do you stop them putting the stuff back on the HD??

Firewall and a virus program. Then schedule adaware to run daily or weekly when the machine is unattended.

Unless of course you mean the Window Messenger Dialogue [sic] boxes.

Right click My Computer>Manage>Services and Applications

Disable the Messenger service, its used for nothing unless you are on a LAN and its being used for administrative warnings.

had a similar problem had adware,sybot,popup blockers and i was still getting popups,apparently there is a an advertising piece of software that you need to remove ,run spybot and it will identify the spyware orignator ,search on google and there is a link on there site to uninstall the offending piece of software , i can't remember the eact link but you will find it

a member of the board helped me out big time when my computer was "Raped" by all sorts of Ad ware and Hijackers.
