"Stand-By" Mode disappeared

Hi, can anyone help; I'm running under Windows 2000 on my PC and for some reason I have lost the option under "Start...Shutdown" to go into Stand-By mode.

Anyone any ideas how to get it back? (I've followed the instructions under "Help" for enabling stand-by, but the option doesn't seem to exist. It used to!)
