Hello,

I'm using various free hosts at the moment (Uni and ISP) but since I plan to move my ISP in a couple of months, fancy a domain name, and wish to host more than the 30mb offered I plan to pay for hosting.

I was wondering who people here recommend - I have looked through the old posts, but few actually offer what I'm after.

Register1 is perfect (JamieBeeston on here) but I don't have £99 to stump up straight away, so I'm after for something like that, for a similar price but a monthly payment rather than yearly. I have emailed him a while back and he couldn't help Is there anyone else who can help?

Cheers.

I've just signed up with www.xsession.com for personal web hosting. See here

I know one of the guys that runs it, very reputable.

thanks for those links,

Pies, they unfortunately don't offer enough space (looking for 500mb+)

FWD, thanks for that link, looks like it will come in very handy

pmanson, that one would be perfect if they offered mySQL I don't like Access stuff and don't want to start changing my system now (already have site ready to migrate to new servers)

Pies, that looks superb, thanks but is there a catch? It all looks too good to be true...

Hmm, one of those moments I wish I had put more infor in my first post A culprit of not listening to myself I guess, what I need is :

mySQL/PHP installed
ability to write to directories remotely (i.e. upload files from webbrowser)
email, webmail but maybe expandable to SMTP or similar?
500mb+ of storage
masses of monthly transfer (but I won't be using that much to start with)
cheap as possible

BlueHost looks exactly right, but maybe a bit too right if you see what I mean - 2 years hosting, with a domain for £30? If I refer someone I get that £30 back? Can't be right!

When do you need it by? I'm should be meeting up with the bloke that runs the company next week, i'll ask him any questions for you if you want.

www.1337hosts.com

500mb, 5 SQL Databases, C Panel Administration, loads of pop 3 boxes, 10 Gig transfer. I'm hosted with them, £6 a month or £60 a year.
