Damn Computer!

Good evening,
Im having a few problems at the moment with my computer,
Every time i try and do something it crashes and a blue screen comes up with loads of writing on it.
Its just had a new hard drive if this makes a difference and also windows vista reinstalled,
Please help because this is making it a tad difficult to do my college coursework,

Blue screen of death, usually down to faulty hardware but can be identified by the error code which gets thrown up on the blue screen. Most prob is your new HDD but quite commonly it can be RAM issues and even Motherboard issues as well.

is it overheated or overclocked?
any new hardware or software installed?
