Norton and email

Probably a very simple explanation but when I open Outlook with Norton Internet secirity enabled my Email will not come through. I have to disable it in able to download my messages and then restart it when Im done. Ive had a look at the Email options in Norton but couldnt see anything. Anyone know what Im doing wrong?

using norton internet security, its a bag of nails. you are about the tenth person to report this fault that i know of.
get rid and use their antivirus, which is ok, and zonealarm which is free

I use NIS 2004 with no probs at all. You just have to be careful with timing as there is a delay between when you think your emails have been downloaded/sent and when they really have been (delay caused by the virus checking and anti-spam etc). My install is pretty much 'out-of-the-box' so if you want to compare any of our settings with mine (I also use Outlook) then feel free to mail me.
