DSL modems with wireless routers
Discussion
I’m just about to by a WiFi enabled laptop and would like to be able to use it to surf the web etc around the house without wires – obviously
. ATM I simply have a single ADSL connection with the modem the cable company gave me. Am I correct in thinking all I need to go wireless is a DSL modem with a wireless router? Something like this:
www.dabs.com/uk/channels/hardware/networking/productView.htm?quicklinx=284J
Anyone got any recommendations on a particular model? I only need it for one PC so I don’t need a hub or anything fancy like that. I’ve heard some of these things have built in firewalls?

I have this one
netgearDg834g
built in firewall, dhcp etc, very easy to setup - 5 minute job, seems to have a reasonable range - but I hade to play with the channels a bit to get the best. I would recommend it.

Is your current modem USB or ethernet?
If it's ethernet, then you probably only need a wireless router such as www.netgear.com/products/prod_details.php?prodID=174&view= which you can use in conjunction with your current modem.
Also can you clarify if you are using ADSL or DSL - you mention both and they are different.
