Printer Problems

You settings on the printer (especially your model) should enable you to set the paper for any type you require and it should compensate for using laser copy.
As it's so new, I'd just take it back to the shop and get a new one. Epson's are really good, until the head goes (as mentioned) but that shouldn't be for a few years.

I don't really have any particular paper recomendations, I just don't use the cheap stuff, unless I'm just printing for trial or odd records.
I've used HP, Kodak, Office World, and PC World stuff without any issues, just making sure it's for inkjets.
The best printers ;-))) like my old HP990cxi scan the paper to judge quality, but it's not always 100%, close but not the whole story......
