I've just uploaded a WMV to my website. (My first video!)
It's a 2 min download on broadband. Would somebody please be kind enough to check it works ok on their PC?
www.bonneroute.co.uk/about.html Then click the 'watch our video' gif.

Thanks ever so much!

edited to say my first video, not website!

Very nice little video I'd leave the pics on screen a little longer, they really are very, very good pics.

Excellent stuff Jo, you should have no problem pulling in punters with a clip like that. Not too long and not too short - makes you want to see more, so people will want to do it themselves.

Top class pictures, good envigorating music and some lovely cars.

Good luck with your venture

Why, thanks guys!!

It's sooo nice to hear such positive comments from my first go at it. I want to do another one now! The pics are static on the gallery page if you want a longer look!

But, credit where credit is due....it's not just me!

Qualityscrew and I started the company through years of driving in europe and wanted to share our knowledge with others. We've been to so many hotels, and will only use those where we have had spectacular service, and knowing others will benefit from our experiences.

The perfect job - enjoying life!

Thanks qualityscrew!

Hi,

You might want to look at video compression allowing punters to view the tour in variable bandwidths. Not everyone wants to wait for a 7Mb download! And 7Mb in 2mins is pushing broadband speeds.

As a quicktime streamer, I'm using Sorenson Squeeze Compression Suite (www.sorenson.com). It also works on WMV files (though I'm not a WMV fan myself!). You can get a 30-day trial to see how this works.

Its easy to use and gives good results. I've been getting broadband streams to 8Mb from 120Mb for professional videos.

Very nice, Blonde Moment. Hope it all goes well! As a home owner in France, I know how good it can be over there! Plus the French love their cars. In our village (only 7 properties) the chambre d'hote next to me has 3 British sports cars in their barn, and another one not far away has several, plus a railway etc. The sun certainly brings quite a few nice cars out onto the roads. Your venture is certainly one that may encourage more people to travel with their cars, and enjoy motoring as it should be. Good luck!

Right then... you'd have it far too easy..!

The quality is great, but does it actually offer anything more than your picture gallery does? Please take as constructive crit.

The video is designed to give potential customers a quick overview of bonne route.

Yes, most of the photographs are duplicated in the gallery, but this will change as trips come and go!

Thanks for your comment

Fair enough.. but we're in the middle of nowhere & without broadband.. so the stills give exactly the same info & much much quicker for me

Jo.

Loved the video, it really made me want to pack the car and take a tour. BTW What was the soundtrack, am I right in thinking it was Led Zeppelin track?

Cheers,
Paul
