Its about time I changed to broad band.

Which is the best option for me where I can get a free (or cheap) instalation and a cheap monthly connection?

Cheap is not the key here.

You can never be too rich, too thin or have too much bandwidth

Think of it as an investment, even if you spend £30 a month you can easily save 100 times that...

In that case, whats the best all rounder for someone who still has a £10 56K modem?

Seconded! Excellent service and fast downloads. Even if you go totally mad downloading stuff, it'll only cost you maximum £27.00 a month (inc VAT). My last bill was £15.00 (inc VAT) doing general browsing including the odd video and large photo

I pay 26.99 for a 1mb connection from CentralPoint and it's great (see www.cpbb.co.uk).
Their 512kb offering is 23 quid ish I think/

I run their 2Mb connection @ 35 squid a month..

Bloomin marvellous I say!!

And it's right.. you can never have enough bandwidth!

I just got my 512K setup tonight I'm with NDO. Free line activation and £25 per month. Seems to get good reviews at ISPreview.
