Free car checking service...

HI Gang

A little advice please, ive used a few vehicle check companies in the past when buying cars, and have stumbaled across an app that checks on the ipnone...

its called icarcheck .... has anyone used them? they both offer a free basic check and then youve got to pay for the rest of the data ... previously ive spend arround 20 quid to get a check done with HPI and this mob doesnt charge half that ..

your advice please. thanks in advance

I tried it the other day when it was free. Its not bad and does give you a lot of info. Unfortunatly it didnt tell you if there was any outstanding finance of the vehicle. They might have changed that now but I dont know.

I did see that , the full finance check from HPI is about 20 quid.. is there anywhere cheaper of even better free to check that data? for a couple of quid i can check the chassis number and engine number and see if its stolen or written off so If I can find the finance for a few quid its got to be a winner..?

HPI gives you some form of insurance though doesn't it? I presume these cheap ones don't.

this one gives you a 10,000 quid guarntee that the stolen recoverd / rung cloned etc and insurance write off data is correct, i.e up to 10 grand if there wrong... seems fair to me.. i dont see how the likes of HPI charge as much as they do...

And for the record mycarcheck didnt even have the right car against my reg number!! how shocking is that!

And when I sold my Smart car (no sniggering please) they showed a trade in value, which was the same amount as the dealer was retailing them for on the forecourt...
