E Class 3yr/36k service - does this sound right?

Hi all, looking for a bit of guidance as to what's required for a 3yr/36k mile minor service on a 2008 E220cdi auto.
Received a call from my local dealer and they were very woolly about what gets done and when I asked for a breakdown of cost they weren't really able to give a clear answer. Cost quoted was £590.75, to include:
- MOT (£30 for that)
- Oil (£69 for that, however couldn't confirm if that was gearbox or engine oil)
- Minor service (£218.75 for that)
- Gearbox oil change (£273, couldn't confirm if that was just labour or included parts and oil)
It's the gearbox oil change that doesn't sound right, they couldn't tell me if the change was age or mileage dependent so I'm unsure if I need it on a car as young as mine? If so it seems expensive at £273, even more expensive if the £69 for oil is added to that.

The gearbox oil and filter change is due once in its life at approx 37000 miles. We would charge £239 for that including all parts and labour etc. The MOT would be the same @ £30 and the small service (A service showing on your dash?) would be £225 all inclusive.

Thanks Michael, the service advisor that called me obviously isn't used to people asking what the work they're advising on consists of, she didn't have a clue.
The prices you've quoted sound about right, I think the £69 for oil they've quoted me is a 'double charge', and is already included in either the service or gearbox oil change charge. The service indicator doesn't show A, but that's because they cocked up the reset at the B service last year as well as forgetting to do the brake fluid change I asked and paid for!
I really don't want to take my car out of the main dealer network at only 3yrs old, but I have zero confidence in my 3 local main dealers and I have access to some very well respected indies near me - on resale someone will assume I'd done it to cut corners when all I want is the car to be maintained correctly!

To be fair I think there is a bit of work involved, there's a detailed guide on the process on one of the MB forums, you have to drop & remove the sump and properly clean it, change filter, drain oil from pipes etc, it seemed more complicated than I thought it'd be, not something I'd try at home like a regular engine oil change.That oil price can't be for engine oil - it's too cheap for an Mercedes dealer, it'll be around £100.

The ATF change seems to come and go (I was told it was essential but when they realised the car was on an MB service contract they said it didn't need doing). However it's considered worth having it done if you're going to keep the car. It's a one-off job.
Have a look around your local dealer's website and see if they have offers for servicing. Most will do A services for around £200 and the ATF should be a similar figure, perhaps a little higher.

Thanks DL but that doesn't seem to work for me, it states the car needs a service B which doesn't sound right at 3yrs/36k miles as the last service last June was a service B, also the ESS doesn't contain any info at all, it's blank?!
I'm just going to pop into the dealership and book it in in person, I'm sure they'll have a better idea than a contact centre, if not there will be someone on hand that can tell me what they'll do.
I knew the ATF was due soon, but when I questioned the contact centre if it was mileage or age related I got an 'eh, um, I don't know'! I'm reliably informed it's 37k miles so may as well get it done as I don't like to skimp on the servicing.

I just tried it for an W211 E220Cdi reg 1/5/2008 , 36K miles and it worked fine. Said service A plus additional work. It did show an ATF change.http://lite.servicemercedes.co.uk/pc/pc_printA.asp...
Quick thread update (in case it's of use to anyone else), spoke to someone completely different at Stratstone Mercedes in Glasgow, £417 for an A service including combination (cabin/pollen?) filter change and gearbox ATF oil/filter change, £30 for an MOT and a courtesy car included - pretty good result in the end IMO.

Just goes to show that one ill-informed member of staff giving wrong prices and information can create a poor impression of a dealer group and brand after sales as a whole, so credit where credit's due for those who do know what they're doing.
