SL55 AMG

Hi,

I recently went on a track day and realised I don't have the tool kit which contains the towing eye etc. Does anyone know where the best place would be to get one from as I've looked on eBay with no luck so far.

Mercedes parts at your local dealer. The toolkit is rather dissapointing, just a selection of tools wrapped in some blue cloth. I've seen one on eBay in the past.

There are two SL55's on EBay being broken for parts so I would think they will have the kits available ?

Thanks for the replies guys. I've asked the chap that's breaking the SL on ebay but still no reply. I have seen a tool kit off a sprinter but wondered if the towing eye will fit the SL? I'm mainly after that really in case i brake down.

I don't think you can tow these really with them being auto and if you could it would be a for a very short distance. Back of flat bed is best place to be in the event of a breakdown !

You can still put them in neutral for towing.

Just checked the manual and you can tow them for a max of 30 miles at under 30mph

I wasn't planning to tow it far but just to able to put it on a flat bed and for future track days as they ask you to put the towing eye in. I think ill try the sprinter one to see if it fits and take it from there. Thanks for your feedback guys and i didn't realise they could be towed as much as 30 miles.
