CLK 320 Sell or Keep

Hi All
I have had a CLK320 Cab for 6 years now it is a 2001 model and it had been a great car and very reliable.
It now has the dreaded paint bubbles over 3 of the wheel arches. Apart from the wheels needing refurbing it is in very good condition. ( and the drivers seat needs abit of attention)
It has done 70k and I have had a quote to do the paint/bodywork which they say to do properly needs 3 complete wings sanding ,treating and painting. Quote is around £900+ vat.
I still like the car and would have no problems having the work done and keeping it.
Question is , will other things start to go wrong.( Crystal Ball required ) It only does around 6K a year mainly by my wife pottering around. It used no oil and is good for 30+ MPG on a run
Are these cars good for 120k plus . To spend a couple of grand to get the car in excellent condition again may be prefferable to trading it in for a newer car , Where £2k depreciation will go in the first few months of onwership.

The cheapest car is the one you've got.
Sure, it is going to need regular expenditure on maintenance and repair. But so is a new (to you) car. And the new car will depreciate heavily or cost a bomb in finance or both. And you have no idea what has been done (or not done) to the new car. You've had yours for six years so you know everything about it. By all means, buy a new car if you want one, but not to save money.
The essential components in your car are pretty good; the body is the only real weakness.
