SL55 F1 Edition value?

How much does the official F1 pack add to the value of a used SL55? They seem to be pretty rare and I'm just curious as to the premium they generally command over a bog standard SL55.

It varies - when I was looking earlier this year I could have got a 2004 40k mile car for £30k (same I paid for my current car) but it was silver (as most F1`s are) - I think condition, service hsitory, colour, miles and wheels are the main buying points (certainly in my case) however the sexier front bumper would have been nice to have.

So I'm thinking maybe a £2k premium then?

You forgot to say the 19" split-rims are nice to have too... the standard SL55 Turbine wheels look pretty awful IMO (and would be a nightmare to clean). I think the F1 Edition might sit a little lower, too as the suspension is uprated.

Yep £2k seems reasonable, I have the bicolor splits on my blue sl55 they make the car.
I think a silver car with turbines is as bad as this car can look.

I have an SL55 with the F1 performance pack. I specifically went looking for one, basically 'cos I new it was rare, had extra performance and with the 19" splits and front '65 skirt looks the business. I got mine from Merc and I guess at the time, in comparison paid about 6k more than a comparable 'standard' SL 55. However, in recent investigations on websites, I don't think there is any consistency to it. And I believe some cars are advertised as having the F1 pack, when they dont. (I only say this because I have seen some without the front skirt being described as F1).

Sometimes you might find a car that appears to have a significant premium, and other times you might find one that is piced marginally above a standard car.

When I was looking for one approx a year ago, I found what looked to be a superb F1 car but outside the Merc network. When I spoke to Merc about the 'possible issues to look for', they asked me to think carefully about buying one outside the dealer network, citing that they were so rare that low mileage example would still be sold for good money within the network. I didn't buy that one, having thought the risk might be high. I ended up buying one from Merc and had quite a few issues that Merc did deal with but it took time.
