Does anybody have any thoughts as to why this is only £110,000 asking?

It seems to me to have the hallmarks of a scam;

- no phone number
- the pictures look like magazine publicity shots
- no real information

originally the car was for sale at £138k which was for sale about 4 weeks ago then the chap has reduced it to the £110k asking price which has been on sale for at least another 2 weeks but still has'nt sold. the ad is genuine we sent him a email about 10 days ago,we offered him £100k for it but he replied saying that he has had offers over £110k but will sell it for £120k.
the problem is that not many dealers will offer £120k for it in the trade.
i think that is what the trade would bid on that car £100k to retail at £120k.
there seems to be a lot of sls for sale at the moment.

What makes that car worth only £120k on a dealership forecourt? Most are £20k+ above that for similar cars it looks.

I think the market for these is seriously interesting and I wonder where they are going to go in another 6 months to a year.

if you look at some cars on piston heads they have been on sale for ages some with dealers are on at £134k like the 1 at daniel myers and still not selling. then you have the likes of tom hartley with a 11 plate on at £135k so if he is selling at £135k he would have brought it for a lot less ie at least a 10-15% margin.
if that car was such a good deal at £110k which you would think it was why has'nt it sold?
im sure some trader will come along and give us an idea what these cars are trading for in the trade.

I read an interesting article about the SLS.

It came out way more expensive than anyone anticipated, and as a result, its likely to suffer some really heavy depreciation.

Fabulous if you ask me!

Likewise, I wonder when we'll see a £100k one.

Whilst 100k is certainly a bargain in relation to a new one.

I would buy one at £85k..

That's the magic number

So, maybe another 12-18 months?

My next car I currently see being either one of these or a DBS Volante; I really would rather a convertible but I think I'm going to be dependant upon price when the right time comes - a DBS is simply holding value far too highly at the moment although they are significantly up on what the market was at back in January/February (up from £130k to £145k) The SLS Roadster will presumably take a while to drop and the other choices like Ferrari California etc just aren't as exciting even when they do come down. If however a one year old SLS Roadster takes a drop like this 6 month car has done then I see that being a seriously good buy when the time rolls around.
