Has anyone used DMS for remapping the 55k engine?

I was thinking about getting my E55K remapped there, mainly to get rid of the limiter but they seem to think they can get it to 540BHP which seems a bit optimistic without a supercharger pulley change etc, are they a good company to use when it comes to remapping Mercedes or does anyone have other reccomendations for them?.
I know people speak highly of the likes of Rentech and Kleemann but I'm not after a pulley change etc I just want to get a simple remap that gives a little more power and the limiter removed.

Yes I used them. The remap including delimiting but I didn't find any perceptible change for better or worse. It was also costly when compared to other remaps on the market.

that's what I was thinking, I was quoted £700 from memory( I spoke to them a while ago now) and there's a place near me that will do it for £400, they quote a 30 BHP increase so 506 and the limiter removed, which is the main thing I'm interested in anyway, I know the gains from an n/a engine arn't the same as one with a turbo and I thought a supercharged engine was closer to an n/a engine when it comes to remapping, without changing the pulleys, I know DMS have a good rep but don't know wether to just go elsewhere.

Isn't it the case that all 55 kompressor engines were 500bhp and the 476 was a marketing exercise.

Ah... my experience is only with the NA CLK55 engine that pushes out 367bhp

I had DMS do a remap on my 06 E55, £1K, initiated great throttle response, loved it, but mercedes later fitted a new engine, and this mapping disappeared, subsquently thereafter DMS came to my place FOC and remapped it again, I knew instantly that they had done this, my car was very different, as it had been on the previous remap. The 530-540BHP you qoute, well thats arguable, thinks thats a little above the possible. My car has since had Kleemann mods, including remap, and car is different in many ways since. I like DMS, but their very expensive, but as you may know or will learn, modding these 55K cars is very expensive who ever you end up going to. This said , given the right situation, I would most certainly use DMS again.

generally gains for the 55k engine with remap alone are slightly more than that of a N/A car, but much less than that of a turbo engine, the difference will only be noticeable if you change the pulley but OP is not really looking for performance gains as such

DMS are reputable but from people I've spoken too, my understanding is that their figures are usually exaggerated (also no dyno after to prove results), e.g their pulley upgrade produces circa 560bhp rather than the 600bhp they quote.

also all 55kompressor engines have the same output (I think 493bhp is the official figure), so that includes e55 and sl55, e55 engine figure was under-rated as not to show overshadow the flagship sl, however the sl has a different exhaust to the e55 so there are slight differences in bhp and torque, note the e55 actually accelerates faster than the sl55 as it is lighter
