CLK Fluid Checking

Hi.

I have a CLK 320 2001 . I need to check the gearbox level. I have a dipstick ( Ebay Special )

Do you need the engine runnibg to check level or engine off.

you need the engine running in P (park) or N (neutral) with the handbrake on & up to operating temperature. Check the oil level using your dipstick. You will probably have 2 sets of marks on your dipstick - the lower marks are for a cold oil level on your transmission & the higher marks are for a fully warmed up transmission oil level. Just make sure the oil level is in between the 2 marks.
