SL55 Boot Lip Spoiler
Discussion
Guys,
Has anyone purchased and fitted a boot lip spoiler to their R230? Seems to be a couple of suppliers on ebay, but wondering about fitment quality etc. I can only find one UK supplier which is CKS Performance, but they are charging more than other non-UK suppliers. Any guidance is much appreciated.

I fitted one (imported from far east) going for an sl63 look, it was too fiddly, and kept deviating esp when rain or dirt got inbetween the edges, I reckon cks's spoiler may just be an import also that they have priced up (some of their other products look identical to ones advertised e.g. in USA or Far East).
after a couple of months I got rid, I actually now think the car looks better without the spoiler as it appears to have a lower and wider stance but that's just personal opinion

no it was fine, but if you look very close to the paintwork I would have to admit there is a slight abrasion that can be seen - the problem is that if it doesn't fit perfectly or is not fitted perfectly then rain/grit etc will get in-between spoiler and boot and then sit there
i would advise that you need to be sure you want it first (almost as if it was going to stay on permanently) and also have it fitted professionally if poss.

Kaamg, can you let me know where you end up getting yours from please as im really after one and want to know what the quality and fit is like before buying one.
Thanks
Will do. I'm thinking of this one, as they have been responsive and seem to have good reviews (specifically for the R230 product). Thanks

Let me know if you're aware of any negative comments for these guys. If not I'll place the order and let you know how it goes.

Hi I got a CarKing Lip spoiler from 'Taiwan' off EBay ...painted Iridium Silver ....Matched Perfectly! They are Good Quality.
I used 3M VHB Acrylic Foam Tape for the final fix but first offered it up to the boot using masking tape I made a 'precise' shape as once the warmed
Spoiler hits the metal it's going to 'Bond'
Instantly. I cleaned that area with
Degreasing Agent (alcohol wipes) And
the contact area of spoiler. I then heated
(with a Hairdryer) the surface of the
spoiler and applied the tape as if I was
making a Gasket that followed the edge
with Great care using a craft knife so as
to make it wind and water proof. Now heating that area and the boot and with the 'red' backing removed offered her up
with an assistant ....when dead right
pressed her home using a cloth and
even pressure.....I left a fan heater
playing gently on the boot area for some
long while it's 20% bonded instantly ....
75% after one hour and fully bonded after 3 days
It's on to stay and looks Superb by the way!
