Mclaren SLR Immobiliser - is it Thatcham approved?
Discussion
Hi guys
i'm hopefully going to be fortunate enough to be trying out a friends SLR at the weekend so looking into some insurance etc. I'm being asked if it has a Thatcham category 5 immobiliser device fitted?
Does anyone know? My mate has no idea (he useless with cars despite his obvious good taste)
Cheers all!

Unlikely to have one unless your friend has had one fitted. I think all MBs sold in the UK have a category 1 alarm and immobiliser fitted as standard. A category 5 device is an "after theft for vehicle recovery" system which means it can track the location and disable the car.i'm hopefully going to be fortunate enough to be trying out a friends SLR at the weekend so looking into some insurance etc. I'm being asked if it has a Thatcham category 5 immobiliser device fitted?
