SL63 AMG - thoughts?

I have one of these being delivered later today. Does anyone have one? What's it like to drive? Anything I should be aware of?

Unfortunately I'm not so rich I buy a car without a test drive or any knowledge, it's a courtesy car while my P+J returns to Newport Pagnell for surgery.

We have 2 SL's in the company, one is a 10 plate 63 and its an awesome beast.
Obviously its just an SL with a big engine, so its mostly the same, however you will find the TC constantly kicking in if you give it beans on anything but a dry summers road.
They do consume more oil than the smaller engined SL's too, and obviously drink alot more.

Any specific questions?

Nothing specific - just wanted to avoid any obvious things. I'd forgotten that weird Merc footbrake for starters!!!

I never use the footbrake tbh, thats what park is for, roof down, sport+ and AMG button pressed, then hoon

I'd figured out the S+, AMG and top down bit! I did not read the manual - I judt figured any button marked AMG must be worth pressing!

Well, that was a short lived experience. Engine overheating - the car is going back to the hire company.

But I'm getting a 911 turbo convertible instead.

Is it wrong for a petrolhead to feel disappointed that he's "just" going to be driving a 911 turbo for the weekend??
