Where are the 500BHP monsters?

I'm not very knowledgeable about MBs - but I know that I like horses.
Not real horses of course, but the kind that you find inside car engines making noise and fire and GRUNT happen to the wheels. Etc.
And I know that the CL55 comes in a 'K' guise that pumps out 500BHP, I also know that there is an E version - even an estate one too?
But then there are things like the SLs - like this one for example - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3158869.htm
I really like the look of them but some are 500s some are 55s but some, perhaps, still have the 500BHP unit?
Can someone end my pain and just tell me ALL the really powerful models with the 500BHP engines, across all the ranges, because I keep getting a semi at something then finding out it has 306BHP which, frankly, would make me a pervert.
Please help.
Especially if there are older ones out there that are cheaper now... I'm SURE I found an old beast with a 5.4 litre 'K' in it the other day for about £6000...

I have an E55k Estate that is currently for sale, although I am still in two minds as to whether to actually sell! It is 478Bhp I think as standard and a great Q car.
Unfortunately it will be up for not less than £16k which is cheap for a 70k miles 05, although I am always ready to be corrected.
I did have one member on here contact me about it, although when he stated 'I will be bringing a bankers draft for £15k as that is my budget...' negociations broke down especially as he hadn't seen the car.

the problem i think you will have is that if you find a car for around 6k it probably wont be the best example and could cost you a shed load if something goes wrong.
you dont get 500hp or more untill you get to the 600 bi turbo or of 65 AMG in the older stuff the 55 kompressors are 474bhp i think
the later 63`s are just over 500 except in the c class i belive
The 55 Kompressors feel faster than the 63`s though imo they are alot more brutle in the lower revs

Just checked my handbook for the CL55 AMG Komp = 368 kW (500 PS; 493 hp) the later 63`s are just over 500 except in the c class i belive

A word of caution to the OP though - keep your eyes open and head vs. heart if you've looking to buy a 55/other AMG. Things can get very expensive if things start going wrong.
Under warranty so far I've had:
Tandem pump (pas/suspection), 2 x (front) struts, throttle body, throttle pedal, gearbox overhaul, supercharger clutch, 2 x supercharger cooling pumps.
I dread to think how much that lot would have cost if I'd been paying for all of it. All on a 70K mile car.
But, foot down and it doesn't half shift!
