CLS suspension

I'm looking at CLS 350 CDi's, 2009/10 and was wondering if they were ever fitted, either as standard, or a cost option, with air suspension? After reading all the numerous horror stories about expensive failures of the air suspension on other MB models, I would like to avoid this if possible and stick with good old fashioned springs and dampers, especially as this car will be a keeper for a few years.
Hmmm, I could be lucky then, but it seems to me from reading many threads on PH, that the air suspension on other MB models can be very unreliable, not to mention costly to fix. I read somewhere that the air suspension on MB's was attempting to solve a problem that didn't really exist.

Most of the non 500 and AMG had standard suspension as it was a quite costly extra (around 3k) on the other models - standard on 500 and AMG
The CLS is fitted with the Airmatic which seems no now be pretty much bullet proof (I also had no probs as previous posters with my car) and it is defenetely a better ride over crappy UK roads

I'm not sure Airmatic is unreliable per se it's just that if there are problems the replacement struts are expensive.I think I will try to avoid if at all possible.
