Where was my Benz made....

Its a 1983 W126 380 SEC...

From Wiki i gather they were made in Sindelfingen in the Fatherland and also in New London, S. Africa...

How can i tell where mine was made?

I was looking for the same info a while back and found this on an American Merc forum and saved it, it certainly worked for my old E Class as the 11th character was B and I know they were built in Sindelfingen anyway.

"A-E Sindelfingen
F-H Bremen
J Rastatt
X Graz
T Karmann
M Woking, England (SLR only)
R South Africa

Look for one of these as the 11th digit of your VIN."

My VIN is all numbers... It does say "Made in Germany" on the actual plate though...

Ok, sorry I couldn't be of help, at least you now know the VIN plate was made in Germany though....
