MERC 190 PROBLEMS
Discussion
Hello all,
Have 1998 190 2000 carb 156.000 miles full dealer service history 1 owner, purchased 1 year ago, had developed mayo after approx 3 mnths, removed head, skimmed, de-coked, new oil seals/valve stems, all Merc dealership parts fitted. All ok till approx 1 mnth ago, after 30 mile journey to work oil light came on on investigation oil all over right side inner wing/coil area, cooled engine filled up with fresh oil no problems, checked and found no obvious leaks, happened again after approx 2 weeks, had engine steam cleaned could not locate any signs of leak, after last "blow out" of oil put, checked again not as much this time it appeared to be at right angles to and the coil only was covered in oil with a small amount on inner wing. Getting frustrated now engine runs fine no blue smoke, loss of power nothing to indicate any thing wrong, checked all breather pipes re-fitted new clamps, there is no relief valve on this model, can anybody cast a light on what it may be, sorry to be long winded but need to give all details.
Cheers,
KENHIND
