S-class w220 ABC problem

Hi guys

Have a bit of a problem I need some help with. I got the Mercedes Star Diagnostic system so I have been able to do a bit of testing myself at home.

ABC psi: 15 - 170
Problem: Car was stuck in high position at the front. After playing a little bit with the Star diagnostic (rodeo test etc) the car is now stuck in the low position and the ABC psi have dropped to only 15 PSI, that should/could be a an indication of a leak somewhere but its not leaking anywhere, any clues?

if its only running at 15 psi there is either a major leak that you would spot straight away or the pump is dead

I don't think the pump is dead because when the psi is 170 then the struts are fully extended. I agree about the leak, just wondering why I can't spot it anywhere.

found the leak, a lot of stuff to remove to get access to it, not the easiest thing to work on. Hopefully it's just a pressure line thats gone

As you say hopefully you've found your leak. But if problems still persist & you say you have the Star diagnosis software then why don't you use the guided test procedures & check the pump out. It give s a step by step procedure & as long as you answer each step correctly it will tell you if your pump is working ok or needs replacing. There are also various other guided tests listed to check out each individual struts, front/rear valves etc.

Done that, and the pump, when the struts are fully extended in the front, shows around 170 psi (above 150 is apparantly ok and is the target), because of the low pressure it can't complete the test(s). There is oil pouring out from the center underneath the engine so I assume it's one of the pressure hoses, not very keen on taking it all apart as I do not have a lift.

there isn't a leak, the oil dripping out is from the reservoir for the ABC system, looked like I put to much fluid in there.

This is the status:

Pump can produce anything between 25-175 psi depending on what test I do so it's a bit weird. Could it be that I need to bleed the system in the front? Rear can do up and down without any issues but front looks a bit weird, it's either in the full top position or in the middle refusing to go higher, very weird.
