So off to MB World tomorrow and considering a C63 saloon or estate.

Just wondered what the main differences between the new facelift and pre facelift are apart from the exterior and interior changes, has anybody on here switched or have experience of the new one?

Any help and advice is much appreciated.

I've no experience of either, but I believe one of the key "under the skin" changes was the gearbox.
IIRC, they replaced the old torque converter auto with a MCT double clutch like the one the SLS AMG.

Enjoy your drives thumbup

Differences are price.

Once you know the other differences your budget may decide!

Ok, so MCT is a major improvement from what I understand. Lets class price as being irrelevant.

Is there anything else people can put forward, going on Friday now as traffic was impossible today.

the main 1 is the gearbox as you say.
i think the best thing to do is drive a new facelift version and a pre facelift to see if you can tell if there is much difference.
i think 1 with a ppplus is a must.

Just thought I would give an update on the trip to MB World. The place itself is very impressive, but the c63 was a no go unfortunately, just a bit boring and uninspiring for the money even though it has a cracking engine.

Hi - just to clarify, the MCT transmission in the facelift C63 is not the same gearbox as found in the SLS. The MCT is not a dual-clutch gearbox. It's more like a conventional automatic transmission, but with the wet clutch in place of the torque converter in a traditional slushbox. The SLS does have a proper dual clutch box however.

In case you're curious:

I love the C63 though, get one before they're outlawed wink Having said that, talking to my friend who works at Mercedez, they are not taking new orders on the C63 at the moment because there is a delay on getting some components from Japan (!)

You sure you weren't driving a c220cdi with a c63 badge.? Never heard anyone describe a c63 as boring.

Sorry, I don't think I communicated what I thought was boring. Love the car, interior is what I found boring though, seemed like there were some cheap materials used compared to say that of an Audi.

I understand what you are saying, I'm replacing my S4 Avant, my 5th fast Audi over the years, and wasn't blown away by the comparison of media and materials. I was going to pass and wait for an RS4 to come along, but then I got back in my car amd realised that the C63 is really alot more fun and faster to drive. I may be the only person who finds the exhaust note an irritation, but I find myself lusting after one more than anything else out there.
