MY2011 C350 CDI estate
Discussion
Considering a change from my XC60 (yes I know!) to the above - you can get a year old one with a huge spec for 25k which is alot of cash put does seem be more exciting than an XC60
It fits the criteria we need - space for dog and tent stuff - safe, vaguely frugal and fast
Would be interested to hear from folk who have lived with one.....
Thanks - N-b-D

I have had my E350 CDi estate for just over a year, absolutely love it. Huge amounts of power when needed, handles well, quiet and comfortable.
Average about 30mpg, no problems what so ever.
Rear tyres lasted 20k miles which really suprised me as i drive quiet hard, the fronts are just over 1/2 worn.
With the seats down it is massive in the back.
i love it, got it for another 20 months, probably have another one when its time, inless business is better then its a E63 estate.

If you get a 2011 one with the 7g Plus gearbox you will see a massive improvement in mpg, I struggle to get over 30mpg average in the previous E350cdi estate but easily see 38mpg from the later one and nearer 50 on a run.
Also consider contract hiring one, the deals are bordering on silly.
The C350cdi estate Edition 125, so comes with everything including comand, can be had for around £400 a month including vat with around £2000 deposit.
You can't buy a 2 year old one cash and loose less than that.
Plus you get the far, far better interior on the facelift model too.

if they are doing one for £340 a month plus VAt i,ll get one for the wife too!!
I wrote out a really long reply earlier with a link to the contract hire companies etc.
However not sure where it has gone.
The actual deal was £369+vat on a 6x24 contract, so a little over £400 a month to be fair.
They were also offering the C250cdi sport estate edition 125 for...........£252+vat on a 6x24 contract. So £1800 deposit and £300 a month including vat.
Someone I work with occasionally grabbed one of the C250cdi estates as did one of the guys on the tyresmoke forum.
However these were the deals for the quarter ending September, looks like they are all gone at the moment, which is a pain as I wanted to grab one myself.
The new deals are out next week and the year end deals tend to be aggressive so worth waiting to see what comes up.
This is about the best C250cdi sport estate edition 125 deal at the moment who I know has stock.
£1600 + £269+ over 2 years.
