After a long search got a set of AMG Type III 19" after I saw a black SL55 with them on

Just waiting for my local fitter to source the tyres and it is goodbye 18".

Great looking wheel mate. I'd love those or even 20s on my ML, the standard 18s just look too small.

The light was a bit rubbish when I took the shot but they look fantastic in the metal. Got a great deal on tyres as well, Bridgestone RE050A MO all round.

Wheels look great!

I'm after a set of these for my S class. Seen a few S Classes with these wheels on them and they look really good.

If you don't mind, may I ask where you got the wheels from and how much they were?

Thanks.

Got them off EBay. They are genuine AMG with all the right codes stamped on them and cost me £1000. They can be bought new for £1900ish so a good saving. They are Type III AMG. Got the tyres for £1000 all round as well MO fitment.

Went for a long run of 120 miles the other day both motorway and A road through the Cotswolds and I can't detect any reduction in ride quality moving from 18 to 19 inch. In fact the Bridgestones are less noisy than the Pirelli tyres were.

Just feel the car has the wheels it deserves now.

My thoughts exactly. When I was looking for an SL55 there were mainly 18" Turbine or these type 3 alloys available in my sub £30k price bracket. If you combine that with not wanting Silver or Black the wheel choice became even more limited so I decided to wait out the tyres and when it come to replacement I would look for alternative alloys.

Looking at the photos they look like different colour cars. Different time of year with different cameras.

Here's another shot at a lower angle

Just got to get rid of the original wheels now.

For anyone looking, I've had very good dealings with www.alloywheelsdirect.net (UK) on OEM Mercedes alloys - even beating prices (delivered) that I could get in here in the US. The prices for brand new are very competitive with what I've seen on eBay, and the shipping was very reasonable in my experience. I've been considering new shoes for the E320 Estate, and have recently spent an inordinate amount of time playing on their website.....
